Jason Ellis is the founding and senior pastor of The Body Church.
Jason moved to Memphis when he was seven years old and has lived here, with the exception of his four collegiate years at Clemson University, ever since. Jason declared Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was eight years old, but it wasn’t until college that God really began to call him to ministry. While at Clemson, God grew Jason exponentially and used various resources and ministries to reveal His plan for Jason’s life – to move back to his hometown and plant a church.
After completing college in May of 2009, Jason married his high school sweetheart, Colleen, and they moved back home to Memphis. Jason began attending Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in May of 2012 with a Masters of Divinity degree.
Since graduating from seminary, Jason has been engaged in the process of planting The Body Church. Apart from following Christ and leading his family, Jason believes that pastoring The Body Church is the Lord’s greatest calling on his life.
